Chinese blue and white Kraak wine pot and cover, Wanli (1573-1619), with globular body and applied loop handle, decorated with six moulded panels containing sprays of peony and auspicious symbols with tassels tied with ribbons, the shoulder with two floral cartouches against a band of diaper decoration, the handle with flower scrolls, condition: slight fritting to knop of cover.

Condition:
H 19 cm, L 14.5 cm Small chip to inside of opening (see close-up photo). Some glaze fritting and typical manufacturing flaws and irregularities but no hairlines or cracks and no restoration.
Notes:
Wine pots decorated with dark outlines and a clear wash in the typical Kraak style as can be seen on this example are rarer than the finely decorated examples and according to Rinaldi may be of an earlier date.
