Japanese blue and white deep octagonal bowl, 18th century, the exterior decorated with a continuous scene of boys amongst plantain with cockerels, all within a fenced garden, the rim with a cellular cloud-wisp band, the interior rim with a landscape scene containing figures under large trees, conversing and playing go, the well with a kirin, one of its hooves and moustachioed head raised, the base with a square stylised 'fuku' mark.
