Rare Chinese yellow-glazed octagonal lobed box and cover, Kangxi (1662-1722), the cover finely incised with scrolling lotus flowers and tendrils around a single lotus flower, the sides of the box and the cover incised with a band of alternating floral sprays, the flat base on eight short feet, diameter: 3 3/4in. 9.4cm. Provenance: R.H.R. Palmer. Palmer Inventory no. 317 where it says that the box was purchased in May 1934 for £45 SOLD
