Meissen monkey-band figure of a cellist, circa 1755, modelled by J. J. Kandler, wearing a black tricorn, yellow jacket with gilt buttons, purple waistcoat and black breeches, on a scroll-moulded base edged in gilding and applied with leaves and flowers, crossed swords in underlaze blue to rear of base, impressed 19, height: 12cm. 4 3/4in. condition: left hand and foot restored, neck, scroll and bow of instrument restored, some re-touching to black enamels SOLD
