Large Japanese imari charger, c. 1700, with lobed rim, decorated in the centre with a jardinière and vase containing chrysanthemum and peony, bordered by bands of flower-blossoms and chevron, the rim with eight panels enclosing jardinières of flowers and a band of flowering prunus branches, the reverse with branches flowers and a band of diaper, diameter: 17 5/8in., 45cm; condition: broken and re-stuck, riveted hairlines and some wear to enamels.
