Large Chinese famille rose soup tureen, cover and underdish, Qianlong (1736-95), after a Meissen original, with foliate rim, decorated with sprays of flowers, with a garland of flowers around the rim, with plumed 'Indian' mask handles with open mouths and iron-red decorated feathered headdresses, the cover with a hollow coronet finial, diameter of dish: 15 5/16in., 39cm; condition: small frits to rim of dish. A similar tureen and cover can be found in the National Trust Dudmaston, Shropshire Collection; NT 813374.2.
