Japanese blue and white dish, c.1700, decorated in the centre with a jardinière containing boughs of cherry blossom upon a wooden veranda, the cavetto and rim with six wide alternating 'Kraak' style panels containing sprays of flowers or auspicious emblems against scrolling grounds, including an artemisia leaf and a conch shell; with narrow panels inbetween each containing a pendant tassel and hatch pattern motif; the reverse with two abstract floral sprays and narrow concentric circles
