An Urbino Maiolica Istoriato Tondino, c. 1540-1550, probably workshop of Guido Durantino, painted with the myth of Jupiter surprising Antiope, Jupiter depicted twice, on the left with thunderbolts issuing from his hand and in the centre transformed into a running satyr, Antiope reclining against rockwork beside Cupid and Cupid also depicted in flight above, in a rocky wooded river landscape with a distant town, within a blue line and yellow band rim, SOLD
