Meissen cup and saucer, circa 1740, the cup of ogee form with scrolling wishbone handle decorated with quayside scenes with merchants and figures within concentric iron red circles, with gilt strapwork borders, underglaze blue crossed swords marks to base, the cup with L in gilt to base, the saucer with incised numerals 63 and initial B in red, diameter of saucer: 5 1/4in.
