Rare Meissen teapot and cover, circa 1725, with a straight spout and loop handle with two opposing gilt line quatrofoil cartouches, containing Bottger-lustre panels edged with swartzlot scrolls, one with coloured enamels with Oriental figure with an assistant at a water fountain making tea, the other in schwartzlot with the Oriental man being offered the prepared tea , the sides with sprays of indianische Blumen; with underglaze-blue cross swords mark to the base, and gilder’s letter ‘M’ initial, and with gilt numeral ‘40.’ to the base and underside of cover; SOLD
