English creamware circular egg drainer, 18th century, probably Yorkshire factory with plain loop handle with daisyhead terminals and pierced bowl, diameter of bowl: 3 ¼ in. (7.8cm.); condition: glaze faults, tiny frit, tiny crackling. Worcester and Staffordshire factory documents record these types of objects as 'egg drainers' and they were often included in large breakfast services and used to serve poached eggs.
