Large Chinese blue and white 'peacock' charger, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with a central floral medallion within radiating lotus-petal shaped panels containing double sets of the flowers of the four seasons, against a dotted cross-hatched ground separated by ruyi heads, the wide rim decorated with four shaped panels containing fruit and flowers, on a scrolling ferns and chrysanthemum flowerheads interspersed by peacocks, the reverse with ribboned emblems of the Eight Happy Omens. diameter: 16 3/4 in., 42.5 cm.
