Meissen sucriere and cover, circa 1740, finely painted with figures in continuous European landscape scenes, including fishermen and a mounted rider with a dog, the cover similarly decorated with continuous rural scenes by a river and mounted with a flower finial, the rims gilded, with underglaze-blue crossed swords mark to base, and gilder’s mark ‘Sl.’ to base and underside of cover; height: 4 5/8 in. (11.8 cm.), diameter: 4 3/8 in. (11.4 cm.); condition: wear to gilding, tiny chip to flower. SOLD
