Rare pair of Chinese blue and white Islamic-market sprinkler vases, Kangxi (1662-1722), with tall tapering necks decorated with peacock feathers rising from the brown-glazed everted rim, the lobed globular bodies decorated with scrollwork interspersed by flowerheads above precious and scholar’s objects, the spreading foot similarly decorated; height: 10 ¾ in. (27.5 cm.). This shape is also known as Gulab pash or a rosewater sprinkler vase. A similar pair of Sprinker vases were in the F Gordan Morrill collection whch sold at Doyles NY as lot 11,on the 16th October 2003 for 13,145 US dollars SOLD
