Pair of Japanese Arita Kakiemon ewers, Edo Period, late 17th Century, of oviform body, cylindrical neck and cup-shaped mouth with pinched spout and high looped handle with European mounts and a shell hinge, the body painted with panels of chrysanthemum and lotus with foliage interspersed by flowerheads within scrolling karakusa, and flowerheads with formal floral motifs to the neck.,
