Chinese famille verte octagonal tazza, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in the centre with two birds in flight and one bird perched on a flowering branch of peony, within a doublelined border,interspersed by a band of ruyi heads, the outer rim decorated with opposing panels of swastika, florets and stylised flowerheads within a cellular pattern seprated by flowerheads and cartouches containing insects, the reverse with a band of ruyi to the rim, above a hatched green wide band containing sprays of peony, the foot with eight panels of flowering branches above stylised geometric borders; diameter: 10 5/8 in.
