Chinese famille verte oval fluted basin, Kangxi (1662-1722), with gilded details, the centre decorated with a pair of birds, one in flight while another perches below, amongst flowering branches with seedpods and foliage, the fluted cavetto with a selection of scrolling floral sprays, including peony, chrysanthemum and cherry blossom, the rims with small flowerheads against a green stippled ground, the reverse with a scrolling band in iron red and floral garland.
