Chinese small celadon jade elephant, Qing dynasty, standing four-square, the pale green body finely carved into the figure of an elephant with the head facing downwards to the left and the trunk curling inwards, with finely incised wrinkles to the neck and limbs, height: 1 7/8 in. (4.5 cm.).The elephant symbolises strength, wisdom and prudence; it was a popular symbol in the Qing Court. SOLD
