Large Chinese verte imari charger, late Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in blue and overglaze red and green enamels, the centre with a flowering bough of chrysanthemum, sprouting grasses and a butterfly in flight, the cavetto with a blue diaper band interspersed with four lobed floral cartouches and single chrysanthemum heads, the flat rim with chrysanthemum, aster and a continuous trail of cloud, the rim glazed brown, the reverse with two flowering boughs. The green enamels make this dish more unusual.
