Pair of Famille Rose Teabowls and Saucers
Pair of Chinese famille rose teabowls and saucers, Yongzheng (1723-35), decorated in the centre with a roundel containing a lotus, surrounded by flowerheads and scrolling decoration, diameter of saucer: 5 ¼ in. (13.2 cm.); height of teabowl: 1 ¾ in. (4.5 cm.); condition: minute frits, one teabowl with tiny chip and faint hairline. Provenance: Martin Hurst collection, purchased from W. Waddingham Antiques, Harrogate. George Williamson’s 'The Book of Famille Rose' is primarilly based on William Martin Hurst's collection of Yongzheng famille rose porcelain.
