Pair of large Chinese blue and white dishes, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with a central roundel containing lotus surriunded by ruyi, with radiating ogee panels containing flowers against a diaper ground, the reverse with fruiting sprays and an artemisia leaf mark to the base; diameter: 15 1/4in. (38.5cm.) and 15 3/8in. (39cm.). Provenance: Collection of Sir Trevor Lawrence (1831-1913), 2nd Baronet, KCVO MRCS. There is a similar collection of plates in the care of the National Trust, (Kingston Lacy Estate, Dorset) NT 1250633. SOLD
