Japanese Kakiemon dish, Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1680- 1700, the centre painted in underglaze blue with a landscape of two boats in a river, two travellers crossing a bridge and huts among distant mountains, within a bright polychrome overglaze border of pomegranates, peony and camellia in enamels and underglaze blue; diameter: 9 7/8 in. (25 cm.).
