Large Chinese famille verte landscape dish, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with a landscape scene of distant figures variously in a pagoda, boat, and mountain, surrounded by trees and mountains beneath an open sky containing a flock of birds, with a conch shell mark to the base; diameter: 14 1/4 in. (36.3 cm.). Retreating in seclusion to a quiet space is indicative of Confucianist principles. SOLD
