Chinese grisaille tea caddy, Qianlong (1736-95), with applied scrollwork round the foot, depicting 'The Pilgrims of the Island of Cythera', decorated with two roundels containing a European couple beside a cherub, the man pouring the lady a drink from a bottle, in a woodland setting overlooking the sea, with boats in the distance, height: 5 1/4in., 13.4cm; condition: small frit to rim, chip to moulding on the foot rim, shallow chip to knop.
