Chinese famille verte rouleau vase, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with the three Stargods Fu, Lu and Shou; Shoulao (the God of Longevity) holding a gourd filled with Elixir of Life and a long staff, Luxing (the God of Wealth) holding a scroll beside a standing crane and two children, and Fuxing (the God of Happiness) carrying a child and surrounded by two other children, the shoulders of the vase decorated with four roundels containing auspicious objects against a green-swastika ground, the neck decorated with sprays of bamboo, height: 18 1/4in., 47cm; condition: rim and hole to the base restored to a high standard. Provenance: From a family collection belonging to Charles d'Ardenne de Tizac. Charles' father, Jean Henri d'Ardenne Tizac (1877-1932), was a specialist in Asian Art, a prolific writer and curator of the Musée Cernuschi (1905-1932).
