Chinese blue and white tankard (snelletje), Shunzhi (1644-61), showing a scholar offical walking in a landscape with two servants, one carring a large pile of books, the scene is between a rim band of scrolling chrysathemums, the base with a band of lappetts, the narrow neck flaring towards the base, with thick rounded loop handle, the flat unglazed base revealing extremely well refined clay, height: 7 5/8in. 19.5cm. Similar examples can be found in the British Museum SOLD
