Chinese famille verte octagonal tazza, Kangxi (1662-1722) decorated to the centre with chrysanthemum, a large butterfly and other insects contained within an iron-red ruyi head border with a green, black and red line above, the rim with four cartouches containing birds and insects amongst flowers against a floral diaper with chrysanthemum heads, the reverse with a narrow band of green stippled ground with peony heads and floral cartouches, a band of green liewen ground with flower heads and diamonds, and four floral sprays, the foot with further floral sprays, a green stippled band with flower heads and lappets in green and yellow.
