Wedgwood green jasperware coffee can, circa 1800, with moulded scroll handle and decorated to the body in relief with the ‘Dancing Hours’ design between, the base with Wedgwood stamp.

Notes:
The ‘Dancing Hours’ bas relief design is attributed to John Flaxman Jr., and was inspired by a chimney piece from the Palazzo Borghese in Rome that was installed at Moor Park, Hertfordshire in the 18th century. The design depicts the ‘Horae’; the personifications of the hours of the day.
