Pair of Meissen circular tureens and covers, circa 1740, painted in Kakiemon style with the flying fox/squirrel design, the lid and base each with a moulded band and painted with a red squirrel above a banded hedges and another yellow squirrel all amongst Indianische Blumen, the lid with scalloped brown edge and a pine-cone finial; underglaze blue crossed swords to the base.

Condition:
Faults to finials; for the tureen on the right see the sixth and seventh images. (this finial has been reattached). For the tureen on the left see the 5th image.(this finial is chipped)
