Chinese famille rose basket and stand, Qianlong (1736-95), of oval form with spreading perforated sides, foliate rim and twin looped upright gilded handles, the interior well decorated with floral sprays within an interlinked chain and further floral sprigs, the rim with a floral cellular border with four curling gilt cartouches containing pink cell ground, the exterior with moulded flowerheads to the latticework; the stand similarly decorated with perforated sides, the rims gilded.

Notes:
The idea for fruit baskets is derived from the Meissen factory after about 1740.
