Pair of Chinese famille rose teabowls and saucers, Yongzheng (1723-35), the saucers decorated with a central peony encircled by a turquoise star band and half florets with iron-red scrolls; the cavettos with three sections containing flowering peony with curling foliage and panels with pink diaper ground; the rims with pomegranate-shaped seeded-cell cartouches and geometric half-floret bands; the teabowls similarly decorated with four peony cartouches, scrolling bands and seeded-cell pomegranate cartouches; the interior of the teabowls with turquoise bands to the rims and peonies to the well.
Dimensions:
Diameter of saucers: 11.5cm. (4 1/2in.); diameter of teabowls: 7.2cm. (2 3/4in.)
Condition:
One teabowl with chip to base, and one small frit to underside of one saucer.
