Chinese blue and white dish, Kangxi (1662-1722) decorated in the centre with birds and insects among flowering branches of peony, prunus and magnolia issuing from rockwork, the cavetto with chrysanthemum flowerheads and a swaying leaf against scrolling ferns, the wide rim similarly decorated with chrysanthemum flowerheads interspersed by peacocks, with opposing ruyi-bordered ogee shaped panels containing fruit, the reverse with floral sprays and lozenge mark to base, diameter: 14 in.
