Chinese blue and white bowl, Kangxi (1662-1722), of square cross section with canted corners, each side with a panel containing a figurative scene, including a gentleman rider accompanied by a young attendant in the countryside, a lively woman drinking tea and telling a story to two onlookers, and two garden scenes outside a pagoda; narrow panels in each corner with diaper pattern and large ruyi heads rising to a lobed rim, the interior with central foliate panel containing a scene of a lady perched upon a rock in a hilly garden, the inner rim with a cell pattern band with eight cartouches containing flowers including peony and prunus, the base with an apocryphal Xuande mark, ,
