Pair of Chinese famille rose octagonal plates, Qianlong (1736-95), painted with a central scene of birds perching beneath flowering hibiscus and peony amongst ceramic vessels of ancient bronze form, the border with delicate garland of hibiscus flower and lotus.

One with one flake and one chip to rim, two flakes to underside of rim, the other with one flake and nibbling to the rim
