Pair of Japanese Imari lobed dishes, c.1720, each decorated to the central lobed roundel with a bird perched underneath a pine upon rockwork by a river's edge, the wide scalloped rim richly decorated with two panels containing ho-ho birds in flight, against scrolling grounds of gilt with vines, iron-red with cherry blossom, and blue with chrysanthemum, the reverse decorated with three sprays of peony and double circle to the base.
