Pair of Dutch delft blue and white plaques, c.1750, painted with two scenes from the Stations of the Cross: one depicting number 8 (Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem), with Christ carrying the cross to Calvary, surrounded by women while he is beaten by soldiers, the other depicting number 14 (Jesus is laid in the tomb), with the body being lifted into the tomb by Joseph of Arimathea while mourners look on and another prisoner is punished, both with a turreted castle on a hilltop visible in the background and scrolling floral borders.
