Pair of Chinese famille verte baluster jugs, Kangxi (1662-1722), with early gilt copper mounts, loop handles and covers, the pear-shaped bodies with six moulded lappet panels containing climbing boughs of peony issuing from rockwork, the feet with further ogee-shaped cartouches containing flower heads, the domed lids with blooming peony and flying insects, the loop handles decorated with leafy garlands and with shell-shaped thumb pieces.
