Pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain vases, Kangxi (1662-1722), of bulbous form with long slender necks and flared rims, decorated in underglaze blue with mythical beasts with forked tails and tufted heads among scrolling clouds and floral sprays above waves, the tall foot-rims with a band of lotus scrolls, the slim necks with scrollwork and stiff leaves, the bases with single flower marks in underglaze blue.
Condition:
One vase with break to neck, chip to rim and small missing area to base, the other with sealed haircrack and small missing area on rim; all restored to a high standard
