Chinese blue and white moulded bowl with flared sides and foliate rim, Kangxi (1662-1722), the exterior decorated with two bands of petal-shaped panels containing flowers including peony, chrysanthemum, prunus and cherry blossom issuing from rockwork with flying insects overhead; the interior decorated to the central roundel with birds in flight amongst hydrangea and peony issuing from rockwork; the sides with birds in flight and perching upon floral boughs; the interior rim with wide band of diaper ground and four lobed floral cartouches; the base with central mark within a double circle.
