Pair of blue and white dishes, Kangxi (1662-1722), each decorated to the centre with boughs of flowering peony and seed pods issuing from rockwork, with winged insects and a pair of birds, one perching while the other flies above, the deep cavetto and rim each with formalised and partitioned borders comprising fourteen ogee-topped panels containing further flowering boughs and grasses with flying insects against cellular and hatch-pattern grounds, the reverse with bands of double circles, six scrolling floral motifs to the rim, six ruyi-heads and a central square mark to the base within a further double circle.
