Chinese Yixing 'landscape and scholar's objects' teapot, Kangxi (1662-1722), of ovoid form, with moulded decoration of scholar’s objects and scenes including two figures crossing a bridge over a sampan, a pavilion and walled garden with rockwork, the cover decorated with a beribboned scroll and flowers, the handle decorated with florets and the long spout with scrollwork, surmounted by a spherical knop with three ruyi heads
Condition: The cover with a small restored rim chip and a restored hairline extending from the knop to the rim, and possibly a restored nick to the lip, the teapot with some minor nicks and a short hairline at the mouth rim. Overall with some firing imperfections including firing tears to both the teapot and the cover, and a circular firing line at the bottom of the lower terminal of the handle. The surface with accretions, especially at the firing tears, and with minor wear to the surface
