Large Japanese Kakiemon-style charger, c.1680-1700, painted in underglaze blue and bright overglaze enamels to the central roundel with a jardinière of flowering peony upon a garden balcony within concentric rings in iron red, the wide rim with two gnarled trees with stylised flowers and small sprays of bamboo, and two precious beribboned objects.
