Large Chinese famille verte ‘pheasant’ dish with barbed rim, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated in the centre with a pheasant perched upon rockwork, with a pair of mandarin ducks in a lotus pond below, with two magpies perched amongst prunus, peonies and chrysanthemum, the cavetto with a floral band of flowerheads and the rim with cartouches containing further scenes of birds and butterflies amongst flowers alternating within bands of iron-red lattice work, the base with a lozenge mark within double rings, diameter: 14 3/8in. 36.5cm.
