Fine blue and white bowl, Kangxi (1662-1722), the exterior with eight different Shou-characters over an interlocking chain of lotus flowers, the rim with a wide band of half-flower heads against an arabesque-pattern ground, the interior rim with a band of five-petalled blossom flowers and scattered petals against a radiating blue ground, the central well painted with a large lotus head with rows of variegated petals; the base with an apocryphal Chenghua mark within double concentric circles.
