A pair of Chinese blue and white plates, Kangxi (1662-1722), painted with a room with a checkered floor, seen through the curtains a lady seated at her dressing table looking into a mirror while doing her hair, with another table behind a screen just showing with a vase containing branches, the rim with cartouches containing peaches against a diaper background, the reverse of the rim with scrolling landscapes, the base with an apocryphal Chenghua mark.

Diameter: 20.2cm. (8 in.);
Condition:
one plate with very small shallow frit, the other with 2 flakes to rim and a small chip.
