Chinese armorial oval fruit basket, circa 1800, with pierced sides, with the arms of The Hon. East India Company, with its motto 'Auspicio Regis et Senatus Angliae' [ 'By right of the king and the senate of England'] within a scroll, width: 7 5/8in. 19.5cm., height with handles: 4 5/16in. 11cm. condition: handles replaced.
