Japanese imari fluted bowl, 18th-19th century, the exterior decorated with two phoenixes in a rocky garden, the interior with ribbed sides, decorated with branches of flowers and two birds, diameter: 5 1/2in., 14cm; condition: restored break to rim, hairline crack. An 18th century bowl and cover decorated with a simialr pattern can be found in the Rijksmuseum Collection, accession number: AK-NM-6492-A.
