Pair of Chinese blue and white baluster vases and covers, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with lotus petal panels and hanging grape vines, leaf and double ring mark to base, height: 17 3/4in. 45cm; condition: one with a hairline to the rim and chip to foot rim, the other in good condition, chips to covers. Provenance: from the Leonard Gow Collection. Leonard Gow (1859-1936) a philanthropist and senior partner in the shipping company Gow, Harrison & Co, was one of Glasgow’s greatest art collectors, specialising in pictures, etchings and Chinese porcelain.
