Chinese famille verte wall vase, Kangxi (1662-1722), decorated with phoenix, cranes and other birds flying above a peony garden, where a further pair of phoenix, or fenghuang, perch amongst the rockwork and blooming flowerheads, the flared footrim with a band of beribboned babao and the rim with a band of red and green stippled floral cell.
