Chinese grisaille and gilt plate, c. 1745, decorated in the centre with Aurora, the goddess of dawn, riding in her chariot drawn by two winged across the morning sky and dispersing the clouds with her rays of light, the inner rim with spearhead decoration, the border decorated with alternating cartouches containing love birds and hounds amongst the symbols of Aurora, diameter: 9 1/8in., 23.2cm; condition: small chips and frits to rim.
